Choker by Elizabeth Woods

Alexis is missing, Cara can now manage to hold a normal conversation
and as the days pass she fears more and more as though Zoe may have
had something to do with Alexis's sudden disappearance. Her fear continues
to grow after the police show up at her front door, first she worried
somehow someone had learned of her hidden friend however when she
learned why the police were actually there at her house she was even more
worried. They were there to ask questions to Cara -  'Did you go to Sarit's
Party on Saturday?' 'What did you know about know about Ethan Gray's
activities that night?' 'Did you to speak?' 'Did he in fact walk you home?' -
about Ethan. They had evidence that Alexis's disappearance was not a suicide
but an abduction. As they asked these questions the more she thought of
all the things Zoe had said to her about Alexis. Could her best friend or
her secret crush really had abducted her enemy or his girlfriend?

Choker By, Elizabeth Woods

Just days after Sydney Powers death her best friend Alexis is missing after a Sarit's 'Celebration of life' party. The one thing that Cara can't get over is the long black head of hair she saw run past the kitchen window at the party, swearing it could have been Zoe she asks Zoe where she was that night. She promises she was there in Cara's room all night. Then to find out the next day Alexis is missing after the same party. Chills ran through Cara's body when she saw Zoe the next morning and left as soon as possible just in time to run into her grieving worried crush - Alexis's boyfriend - Ethan.

'Choker' has got me hooked! I love how the author uses foreshadowing so well throughout the novel, she tells you just enough to keep you wondering whats going to happen next. I don't want to put it down, I look forward to reading more novels by Elizabeth Woods.

Choker By, Elizabeth Woods

Half ways through Choker, Cara's next door neighbor Sydney is found dead in her pool during a party; Alexis is falling into depression at the loss of her best friend; Ethan is spending his days protecting his heartbroken hungover girl friend; and  Zoe has given Cara a 'make-over' to rase her self esteem.
Once Cara has finally got her self esteem up a little bit, it is time for Sydney's funeral service. Cara wasn't exactly excited about going to the service because Sydney didn't really like her - in fact she thought Cara was a loser and a creep- but she went to the service anyways to please her parents. After the service one of the girl on the track team invited her to a party at her house in memory of Sydney. Everything was going well until Alexis woke up from her drunken state in the lawn chair. Alexis was sure to remind her exactly how she and Sydney thought of her.

I'm still enjoying this book very much, if not more. Its got me hooked at the moment I might just have to go home and finish at least this chapter. It makes me sad to think that Alexi sis treating Cara so horribly, however I feel like its realistic which I think is great that Woods can pull it together in such a way to make it feel as though you're there at the party or the service with the characters.

Choker by Elizabeth Woods

Choker by Elizabeth Woods focuses on High School student Cara Lange's drama filled life. From moving to a new school and abandoning her best friend - her only friend - Zoe. At her new school she is an outcast tortured and harassed by the popular girls because of an embarrassing choking incident in the cafeteria she now holds the name 'Choker'.
Zoe is back, after running away from home finding her way to Cara's house she now spends her days reading magazines in the middle of Cara's bedroom floor hiding from the outside world.

I have enjoyed this book very much so far, much more than I thought I would when I picked it up.
Author Elizabeth Woods is very good at mirroring the life of an outcasted High Schoolers life. Showing not only her dramatic school life including boys, grades, and popular groups but also her home life with busy lawyer parents and the struggle of hiding her runaway best friend.
